First NFL Female Referee

I have always wondered why there aren't any more professional women referee in international games like Futbol (soccer), American Football or even Baseball. What I mean is that women are good at running, blowing the whistle, screaming, yelling and big sigh, make a game call.

Well, the NFL has decided to put down the gender barrier and hired their first woman NFL Referee. She has high school and some college experience but not on the professional level. I wouldn't expect her to have any professional experience since there are hardly any women with that kinda of level of experience. Thus putting a lot of pressure on her to perform with an eye of a Tiger, no an EAGLE! I wish her luck. Better her than me among big sweaty man, I'd rather play fantasy football and no, she will not be wearing a skimpy referee outfit either!

Not that coming back for a 20th season was a simple decision.

''I could make a case for both playing, not playing,'' Favre said. ''This is a very good football team, the chances here are much greater than other places. From that standpoint, it was always going to be easier (to return).

''Part of me said it was such a great year, it would be easy to say, 'Hey can't play any better, why even try?' Then the other part is, 'Guys are playing on a high level. Why don't I go back out?' The expectations are high here, as they should be.''

NFL

Did anyone see Poor Favre last night? Such a pity that his last play of this season had to be an interception. The only reason we were rallying for him was because we sure hate them Saints. But Favre, today I only have one thing to say to you: Feel our pain!

So, will he be back next season? I sure don't care. If he returns it sure makes great football talk and if he doesn't, I'm sure he'll be hire as a commentator somewhere.

Now, John and I are rooting for Manning-Colts! Down with the Saints. -Sandra.

Miles Austin is DA MAN!

Where have you been dude! Ok, I'm still not in the Romo bandwagon just yet, but it was refreshing to see connection between these two guys and it was suprising to see Romo actually throwing the ball for more than 5 yards and made no interceptions. I have to say, we did get worry the first 8 minutes of the first quarter when our defense just couldn't stop the Falcons and allowed them 16 plays for their first touchdown.

But everything turned around and we were not yelling at the T.V. But I was dissapointed at the fact that Favre did loose to the Steelers. I love the Steelers, but it would have been good to see Favre win that one. However, the big game to watch next weekend is the cheese heads against the mighty Favre.

I just hope, I haven't delivered yet...I will hate to miss this game.

NEXT: Seahawks (2-4) again, we SHOULD win this one. If Romo can keep the same game, that would make things alot better in Big D. -Sandra.

NFL: Go Cowboys!

So, the new NFL season has begun and so has the pizza eating every Sunday...minus the beer this time around. At any rate, John and I just love to watch sports and it usually begins every September to June of every year.

So, the Cowboys played Tampa Bay yesterday and even though the first half wasn't much to be proud of on the Cowboys defensive line, we still won. I'm still not crazy about our much talked about Quarterback Romo. I don't think he will "ever" take us to the Superbowl and if he does, darn it, I'll buy me one of his jersey's even though I really really want one from Witten.

Anyways, so, I dressed up Sofia in this onesie Lisa gave me awhile back and it still a little big but that's ok because from now on every Sunday our TV will be on just football games, Sofia will wear this onesie until she can't fit it anymore. Besides, she's almost doing the touchdown sign all I have to do is get her to do it when the Cowboys do a touchdown.

I'm hoping they'll play better than they did Tampa Bay, because after watching the Steelers vs. Titans last week, I don't think we have a chance for a long run this season. Just saying. NEXT: Giants. - Sandra.

Vick signs deal with Eagles

Pitiful!! Now I HATE the Eagles even more!!!!! As an animal lover myself, Vick should have never been given another chance to play in the NFL. He's a criminal and does not deserve to earn millions again after he used millions of dollars to fund his dog figthing ring. I wish the Eagles a 0-16 record for this next season! I'm so glad Jerry Jones didn't give in to this guy, we had enough drama with T.O and Pacman last season! -Sandra.

Michael Vick is back in the NFL, landing a job with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Vick's agent, Joel Segal, confirmed Thursday that the sides had a deal.
Vick has not played in the NFL since 2006. The former Atlanta Falcons star was convicted in August 2007 of conspiracy and running a dogfighting operation, and was sentenced to 23 months in federal prison. He also was suspended indefinitely by the NFL.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell conditionally lifted Vick's suspension on July 27, allowing him to sign with a team.

John Madden retiring

John Madden is putting his telestrator away.
The veteran NFL broadcaster and Hall of Fame coach is retiring.
"It's time," Madden said in a statement. "I'm 73 years old. My 50th wedding anniversary is this fall. I have two great sons and their families and my five grandchildren are at an age now when they know when I'm home and, more importantly, when I'm not."

Madden's last broadcast was February's Super Bowl between Arizona and Pittsburgh.

Madden is reluctant to fly and often traveled to games in a specially equipped bus, but says that's not what's forcing him to quit.
"I still love every part of it - the travel, the practices, the game film, the games, seeing old friends and meeting new people," he said. "But I know this is the right time."

WHAT!!! NOOOO!!! The new NFL season this fall will not be the same without Madden. He will truly be missed! UGH! He is one truly irreplaceable guy! This might be stupid for some of you but this feels just like when Bob Barker from "The Price is Right" retired. I was devastated because on my summers off from school when I was younger and as an adult on my days off or when I was home sick, the only thing that I would watch on daytime TV was The Price is Right because Mr. Barker was truly awesome!!! I miss him too, since he retired I have not watched The Price is Right again. This sucks. -Sandra.
