Happy 6!

A Tooth Fairy Visit!

We don't always order pizza, but when we do, something is bound to happen, like Sofia losing her first tooth!! At age 5! Today, we just didn't feel like being in the kitchen so we order pizza. Haven't done that in sooo looong! The girls were excited! So, it was football and pizza, then I heard Sofia say, "Ouch!" Then, she signal to her tooth. It was loose. I couldn't believe it!

So, I just told her how to keep moving it. Of course, she was excited but I didn't tell her how painful it is sometimes to remove it. It was painful for me.

It had to be Pizza. Cheese Pizza! And no, we do not do our hair on Sundays! 

Then, we had leftover Pizza for dinner and Sofia was very careful about eating her pizza, but she forgot and bit with her front teeth and wallah! The tooth came out! She freaked out for a moment thinking the tooth had gone down her throat but it was actually stuck on the pizza bread.

So, now we are waiting on the tooth fairy tonight to deliver a dollar bill so we can take to a store and buy something inexpensive.

Sofia's Preschool Graduation

After a long hiatus, not because I didn't have anything to say or show, but because I was under a personal deadline that I had to meet.

Well, since I'm here, I'll start with what's been going on lately with us.

Sofia's Preschool graduation! It was bittersweet. To think she started going at 18 months old for only two days up to her 4 year old class was like closing a chapter and to begin a new one.

American Girl Birthday Celebration

This should've been posted LAST month. But better late than never!

Sofia's birthday at American Girl with her school mates! Boys were not allowed.

I love it how Sofia makes sure her doll is drinking. Raquel forgot about her doll the food started coming.

Sofia's Birthday - 5 years old!

Five years ago, I didnt have this many gray hairs that I do today. Nevertheless, Sofia will always be my baby, and to make her feel special we ate lunch and dinner at Chick Fil-A today. And it so happened that Ash Wednesday fell on her birthday this year so off we went to mass to welcome the new Lent season and Sofia and Raquel were excited about their ash crosses on their foreheads.

I don't care about gray hairs and/or wrinkles around my eyes, I am blessed to be a mom.

Sofia Can Read!

Yes, we did it! I say, we, because it took patience and discipline to sit down every day and teach her how to read. I could have chosen other books to teach her but hands down, for me, this was the best after researching all over the place. Sofia struggled to put sounds together until lesson 26, it was like, "oh! that's easy Mommy." "Really?" She fought me, we cried, we laughed, we hugged, we were tired but it all paid off! And to reward her hard work, we went down to the library and checked out "Level 1" reading books for her and she's been reading to the dogs, Raquel, me and John since this past Saturday. I also took her to Chick Fil A as a reward.

Her preschool teachers are amaze at how much she knows.

I'm very proud of her and I had a beer that night as my reward. Next year, I start with Raquel teaching her ABC's and to write her name. This book is amazing! Heck, I even learned how to read better English!

Her letter writing has definately improved since July when we started. She got faster and her letters much better! 

Poor Raquel, she's been asking me she wants to study like Sofia but I keep telling her to be patient and wait until next year. So, she goes and pretends she reads books like Sofia.

Happy 4th Birthday Sofia!

I am as tired as I was when I delivered my baby Sofia four years ago today and I'm looking forward to spending more tiring days taking care of her! Thank you Lord!

Sofia has been asking for the Jasmine doll from Aladdin and after searching everywhere only the Disney Store at Stonebriar (Frisco) had it. So off we went on Saturday and as much as I hate malls, I had no choice but to go. They loved it. Disney Store employees made Sofia and Raquel feel special after they found out we were there to purchase Sofia's birthday present. They gave her a birthday hat and sprinkled pixie dust over their heads (my daughter's literraly gravitated from the ground just from the excitement of having pixie dust.) Then we headed towards the Caroussel. We couldn't buy the tokens fast enough.

John likes mall food. I hate it. So, we decided to break our routine and eat at the mall. After 20 minutes, John and I couldn't wait to get out. The place was too noisy and way too many people. We missed being home having dinner.
