Cooler Weather!

Today, while checking out our seven day forecast I said "Praise the Lord!!" we will finally be below 100's! But we still need to pray for rain! My water bill was high this month.

Of all my 28 years that I have lived here in Texas, I have never, ever turned my heater in the month of May, and/or worn a sweater!! I love it that is raining nonstop but this cold front is brrrrrrr too cold for us in May!

Who to blame?

Packers or Steelers? I blame the Packers for bringing ice and snow to Dallas. Just last week we were enjoying 75 degree weather and the day they arrived we got hit with ice and 6 inches of snow! If Miami would have come to the Superbowl we might of had 80 degree weather! who knows!

I'm still betting for the Packers to win it and take all this lousy weather with them.

Raquel all prep to go out into the snow.

the bags were my idea.

Underneath all the snow, lay ice! this week was horrible!!! It took John two hours just to get back home!

watching some princess movie while mami went to the Doctor.

The obligatory snow man. John called his Medievel Snowman.

Snow 2011

Our first snow of the year. We got about 3 inches and we decided to stay in and do nothing and watch football, John cooked Corn Chowder and Wheat Corn bread! Tomorrow, they say we'll have slippery icy roads. Sound the alarm! All schools and public places will be close! Time to play hookey!!!

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT THROUGH 9 AM MONDAY
TONIGHT: Cloudy with flurries or even patches of freezing drizzle late. Low: 27. Winds: E 5-15.

I didn't even dare go outside from my very comfortable heated home.

Snow, Snow and more Snow!

A few more pictures of the "March Madness Blizzard of 2 inches of snow" we had this past weekend. Thankfully, today was a warm 75 degree and this past weekend is just something that is left in the past...snowy past. They announced this winter was the "second snowiest year" we have ever had. All I know is that I don't want to see snow again for a very long, long time. We are so done with it.

Oh and Al Gore, Climate Change my butt!

Somewhere down below is John's garden. He covered it and it survived!!

Spring....Snow?

The Official start of Spring is today and this is what we got.

This morning, I heard on our "oldies but goodies" radio station that we were getting an inch of snow, and the wind chill was 25 degrees. Thankfully, John started insulating the attic today which worked out perfect because he doesn't have to work in a hot attic.

Snow, Snow and more Snow!

We got 6.5 inches of Snow here in Plano! Dallas got 7 inches. Most schools didn't close today and neither did Sofia so off she went to school and off I went to work! This picture was taken at 8am.

There will be up to 7 inches on my lawn today!!! I haven't seen this much snow since the mid 80's! Snowman making this afternoon is a MUST!!!

Dry and Hot

This image shows a glimpse of rain, but we the citizens of the Dallas metroplex know that the green cloud on this image brings no hope of rain. If it carried rain, it will vaporized before we even notice its raining. Two weeks with no rain can be cruel. What's worse is that our favorite Plano public outdoor pool closes on Sept. 7th.

Don't these people know that Sept its still a hot month in Dallas!!! At least the indoor pool will stay open but it's not the same. I can't wait for that day when John and I (God willing) buy a house with a pool with a Jacuzzi of course for the winter months. :( - Sandra.

Rain! Yey!

Hey! This is what I call a good shot at rain! and it gets better, it looks like all week long! Thankfully, we were able to enjoy some pool time yesterday. Love rain in the summer time, now more that I find myself pregnant. Oh, and my water bill loves it too!

Is it a bird? no! it might be Rain!

As I drove back home yesterday at 5pm from work, the temperature here in West Plano was 102 degrees. As I descended down to East Plano, where my humble house is and yours as well, I started noticing the temperature dropping and dark clouds entering my view and to my surprise it was raining hard! The temperature was down to 75 degrees! Alleluia! I didn't mind getting wet as I stepped down from my car to Albertson's to buy milk for my baby.

And today, it might look like rain again. But we can't count on that either. Here's what the weather people are predicting for today:

"Heat index values will top out between 105-110 the next couple of days. An isolated t-storm is also possible today. Mostly sunny & dry through the weekend." Again, the word we want to hold on to is "POSSIBLE."

No, not fun at all. I want that 75 degree from yesterday evening . darn it.

103 Temperature days

This is what the weather people are showing as breaking news on their weather page. Rain. As you can see, rain was brave enough to come over our city and pour out some heat release. I don't think this tiny cloud filled with rain will do anything to relieve us from the 103 heat.

I am praying for 100% rain! It's hot in here!!!!!!!
