I just remembered I haven't done this post since November. So here's a rundown of all the movies we have watched since. From awesome to pretty bad.
1. Skyfall - Daniel Craig kicks butt again and this time is again better than the last James Bond and someone very important dies in this movie. I can't say in case someone reads this post. So, James Bond is out to get a hacker who is out to get everyone in MI-6 while James Bond tries to get back in to physicall shape after a traumautic even that left him for dead. The action is non-stop! Definitaley one of the best we have seen!
We give it: 5 stars!
2. The Bourne Legacy - Anything that resembles James Bond and spies, I will watch. I have not watch the last three Bourne movies with that "other" actor because I just don't like that other "actor," but I do like Jeremy Renner and he does amazing action scenes and the plot is great! The U.S. government is out to kill all the Bourne spies after their program gets in trouble and to protect it, they decide to start over and kill all the Bourne's but one escapes and that's when the trouble begins.
We give it: 5 Stars!
3. Prometheus - In the 80's, I was really into Alien movies. Now in my 40's, I don't enjoy them much, I really get scare now. Weird. Anyways, People on earth want to find out where they "come from." So, they set out on a space journey to look for their ancestors or whover created them. Well, after three years searching they found it. Right. But as we all know from our Alien movie watching experience, Aliens don't want to be our friends like E.T. does. No. They are out to get us and have us for snack. Good plot, and this movie is open ended. Meaning, a sequel is coming.
We give it. 3 Stars
4. MIB3 - It was funny. Aliens just got uglier in this movie. The plot was ok. Just O.K.
We give it: 2 1/2 stars
5. The Dark Knight Rises - I was so excited to finally see this move until I found myself trying to figure out when it would really start. It never did for us. The bad wasn't really scary. Batman was out beating itself out of guilt and shame and no one cared for him anymore. So the city was being destroyed....I didn't care. The only thing that we did like was Batman's car/motorcyle. They were cooler! Could have been better.
We give it 2 1/2 Stars
6. The Hunger Games - I like to watch games, I just don't like kids killing each other. That is the only thing we didn't like about it. If it could have been different besides the killing, I would have liked it even more.
We give it: 2 Stars
7. Total Recall - I was waiting for Arnold to make a cameo to give this movie a boost but he never showed up. Remakes can be total bust.
We give it: 1 1/2 Stars
8. Dark Shadows - Johnny Depp with another disguise. It suits him having a disguise in every movie because he's just not that good looking anymore. So, he's a vampire whose been freed after many years and looks to venge the witch who made him a vampire. Not a great vampire movie, and not so funny either.
We give it: 1 1/2 stars
9. Killer Joe - Bad movie for everyone to see! Matthew McConaughey I didn't like this character at all! You are better than this. I felt disgusted and worst it was shot in Dallas! Why filmed trash movies in Dallas!

Movies We Watch
Since we didn't have an original version to compare this one to, it turned out to be a not so bad movie. It moved fast, at times it was hard to understand so we turned on the subtitles because the god's seemed to mumbled a lot and it didn't have anything to do that John and I were sharing the only beer left.
The Son of Zeuss, Perseus, decries his god part of himself and decides to remain a mere human but after several years, he gets a visit from Zeus, his father, warning him of a calamity coming and that the era of the gods will soon end. Well, don't you know it, the calamity happened and this time they did great at the action scenes, battle scenes, no love scene thankfully and the ending, we didn't expect it. Not a bad movie, definitely better than the first one.
We give it: 3 Stars.
Roger Ebert gave it good stars so I decided to give it a chance and it didn't fail to disappoint. A CIA spy is set up because, "she knows to much." Gina Carano stars in this movie. John immediately recognises who she is as a martial arts or some sort of UFC fighter, I forgot what he said and that she's one of the best, well, her acting is not bad but her voice is rather one dimension, no feeling but again, she was playing a CIA spy besides, Michael Fassbender, a real good actor among, Michael Douglas and Antonio Banderas.
So, she was set up over a Barcelona job and now she's running for her life but like a good spy she will go to the ends of the world to clear her name. I'm into spy anything so, I truly enjoyed the way the movie flowed and the action scenes and all the spy talk like, "watch your six." John is like what? I said, he meant, "Watch your back." He asked me how I knew that.
We give it: 3 Stars. The supporting cast was amazing this is the only reason why I gave it 3 stars.

Movies We Watch
It only took 2 months to watch 2 movies! We are so busy the TV is only on for Football Sunday!
1. The Artist - You can't hear the dialog between the characters because is a silent movie. You pretty much have pay attention to their movements, feelings and actions to figure out what's going on. Here and there they show you subtitles of what's being said. In the beginning, I wasn't thrilled about not having sound, but fifteen minutes in I was really into the movie and not minding it was a silent movie. Set in the late 20's, sound movies are finding their way out but not for the main character who doesn't think "talkies Cinema" is going to work and suddendly finds himself out of work due to new faces coming in to the spotlight.
Safe for kids to watch!
We give it: 5 stars.
2. Carnage - Oh boy. If you are a parent, you might find this movie somewhat interesting. This drama movie tells of two married couples who find themselves at odds when each others kids have a fight at school and neither set of parent wants to take the blame. It is hilarious the way they start arguing making their case.
We give it: 3 stars.

Movies We Watch
A Civil War soldier somehow transports himself to Mars. Yep, Mars and due to no gravity in Mars, he leaps, jumps instead of walking. There he encounters several races of...umm..people who are at war with each other and in order to find peace the princess has to married the bad guy. So, John Carter is the one to save her by aligning himself with the guys who look like they just finished filming Star Wars. No, really.
In the beginning of John Carter, we agreed on why this movie was given bad reviews, but by the end of movie, we wanted to know more about where he's gone and what he would find. So, it wasn't such a bad movie if it hadn't been such a long movie. Not bad, not good, but so, so.
We give it: 2 1/2 stars.
Based on a Shakespeare novel by the name of "The Tragedy of Coriolanus." This movie goes something like this while the characters in this movie are in modern times:
Coriolanus: "I'll fight with none but thee, for I do hate thee."
Aufidius: We hate alike.
Coriolanus: O, a kiss Long as my exile, sweet as my revenge!
Coriolanus: He that will give good words to thee will flatter beneath abhorring. What would you have, you curs that like nor peace nor war? The one affrights you, the other makes you proud. He that trusts to you where he should find you lions, finds you hares; where foxes, geese. Who deserves greatness, deserves your hate.
I pulled out my dictionary due to some words that I had never ever heard before. At first we were annoyed at the way they were talking but soon we got the hang of it and didn't mind much at all. So much so, that I was rooting for poor Coriolanus!
We give it: 3 Stars.
I was not excited about seeing this movie like John was so I was dragged because we were able to get away and have a movie date. This is about a princess whose parents want to marry her by choosing a mate for her. She was against it, her mother was making her choose one or the winner of a game sort of contest which she won. The princess went to a witch to help her change her mother! All I have to say is that I was crying at the end of this movie. The relationship between the queen mother and the princess was hard at times, they both wanted each other to change without accepting each other for who they were.
I give it: 3 Stars
Mickey Rourke starts as the bad guy who wants to conquer some Greek land by capturing the oracle. While the hero doesn't want to be the hero because he doesn't like war but unknown to him, he is chosen by the oracle to save the land. The gods do show up in this movie, about the only thing that was cool about it. Cheesy dialog. Fighting was cheesy. The man's torsos were not cheesy.

Movies We Watch
One of our date nights, we decided to go watch this movie and it was amazing! Not so much the ending since they left it open-ended but it was all out action movie. Charlize Theron was outstanding as the stepmother and the twist and turns of this Snow White version left you guessing what would happen next. Snow White father was murdered by the new stepmother and put away in a cell forgotten until the stepmother needed her heart and the chase starts for Snow White but wait! They hired a huntsman to go search for the Snow White in the dark forest and the seven dwarfs are actually really cool! Snow White is my least favorite Disney princess, so this movie made her cool in my book.
4 Stars!
An excellent spy movie, if you like spy movies like I do. However, this movie moves slow to figure out who is the mole in a small spy government agency who is passing british secrets to the soviets. I had to wake up John several times during this movie. I couldn't believe he found it boring. I think it was amazing!

What a disappointing movie to follow the first two which were amazing. But we thought we would give it a chance since John is a fan of the first two. Clarice wakes up after twelve years being frozen after being captured by the humans as she escapes she figures out, she had become a mom whose daughter, the humans, have been utilizing as an experiment to make the Lycans powerful to beat out the vampires. It just doesn't work at all. She's a mom? really! ugh.

Another flop from the first Ghost Rider that wasn't too bad! Oh, and Nicolas Cage he's looking really old! You almost feel bad for him. Get another guy to play Ghost Rider, or just do over! Johnny Blaze has traveled across the world to control his curse and suddenly he is looking for the son of satan in exchange to find his soul. I couldn't wait for this movie to be OVER! In fact, we were glad when it was over and Nicolas Cage needs to go back to drama, maybe playing the father of a trouble teenager or something.

Movies We Watch
We give it 3 1/2 Stars.
2. The Avengers - We watched this movie on opening weekend and it served us as a reminder not to EVER go see a movie on opening weekend unless we are ready to wait in line forever only to get moved to a smaller theater house, which has very limited seats, instead of the big house screen. It was close to midnight before we started watching this movie, which had a lot to do with my enjoying the movie because I became very sleepy. It's a great movie, lots of superheroes bunched together throwing punches, jabs and jokes left and right. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) very hot. The story line so-so, but who cares, when you have Robert Downing, Jr., Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans all in one screen you don't need much of a story line.
4 Stars.
3. Tower Heist - A financer is arrested for fraud including robbing employee's from their pension; Ben Stiller and his buddies decide to get revenge and rob the financer from one of his secret safe's in his highrise penthouse, only problem nothing goes as planned and the robber's (Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy and Matthew Broderick) decide to steal something much more valuable. These three together made us laugh especially Matthew Broderick, his persona doesn't change from his Buller's Day Off movie. He's hilarious without trying! Eddie Murphy, amazing!

Movies We Watch
When I first read reviews on this movie I was disappointed even though the previews for this movie looked amazing but they only show you the good parts of the movie, which in this case, are few. The rest is awful down to Orlando Bloom. Nothing made sense and even the good actors in this movie looked awful in a not so funny, clever movie. They fought with swords Ala Matrix. Why not keep fighting to the period? What a waste! I haven't yet seen a Musketeer movie I liked. Don't waste your time buying/renting it.
1 Star for the custom clothes.
Dull and boring. John even felt asleep. Shrek doesn't want to be King and looks for the next heir to replace him. All Shrek wants to do is go back home to his swamp and be a Ogre. But, Alas! Prince Charming returns for vengeance and this time he takes control of the castle and the crown. There are a few jokes but I was not impressed with this one. There is a fourth Shrek movie...I'll watch it when there isn't anything else to watch.

Movies We Watch
I felt in love with boxing in the 80's. My dad used to watch a lot of boxing matches on TV and I remember when Mike Tyson become popular. This movie took me back to those days of amazing boxing fights that get you up on your feet and start cheering for your guy, in this case, robots box in a ring with the owner, Hugh Jackman as Charlie who controls the robot. Set in the future, fights are no longer done by man but by pretty amazing robots. Charlie fight his robot and loses bets along the way, but a son he has never met and now has custody takes him along with him and together they find "Atom" the robot who takes them into the biggest venue there is to fight Zeus the undefeated World Champion Robot. On a side note, Hugh Jackman does take his shirt off. This movie blew us away by the amazing robot fights and the father-son struggles along the way. I didn't expect too much out of this movie, besides just seeing Hugh Jackman without his shirt off. We loved the ending!

Movie: Killer Elite
A true life story spy movie that has two different stories colliding into one. Set in 1981 we see a retire spy agent who is called by a rich Arab to help him evenge his three sons death if not his captured spy friend would die. The payback: Six million dollars. After ten minutes, we turned on the subtitles as their English accent was rather hard to understand. The beginning and end of this movie were ok, somewhat flat, the middle was good when Jason Stathan, hired his crew and planned the murders. Clive Owens plays an agent who collides with Jason in a great fight scene. I do like Clive Owens. Overall, not a good movie, not a bad either. Oh yeah, and Robert Deniro shouldn't be running at his age, he looks bad running.

Movies We Watch
"All wars begin long before the first shot is fired and continue long after the last bullet has done its job."
Set during the Spanish Civil War and tells the story between two friends Manolo and Josemaria Escriva who later becomes a Priest who during the civil war starts Opus Dei (God's Work.) This movie is about betrayal, love, hatred, friendship but most importantly about forgiveness. This movie moves slow but the ending is so powerful and it hit too close to home for me; I cried and cried at the end of this movie, very powerful. The Dragons are the ones that you can't let go from within ourselves, the dragons are the ones who keep us from moving forward, from forgiving.
5 Stars.
Chimpanzee's are captured and seized from their natural habitat and used as lab rats to find the cure for Alzeimer's then suddenly something goes wrong and all of the Chimpanzee's are killed but not before finding out a baby Chimpanzee who has been born with the drug given by his mother, now dead and Ceaser is now raised by the Doctor who later leads the first EVER Chimpanzee revolution from mankind. This is a great prequal to the original Planet of the Apes movie. I love animals and I can't stand it when animals are being abused. Great movie and I bit off all my nails! Ceasar is home! and E.T went home! I hope there's a sequal to this one, they sure led you to believe that!

Movies We Watch
"You is kind. You is smart. You is important". This movie is set during the 1960's civil right movement era, in a Mississippi town where having a black maid was the norm, treating them like second class citizens was how they treated African American citizens. The South could not let go of their prejudices and allowed this racist behavior to continue. This movie is about a young white woman inspiring to become a writer and to do so, she had to find a provocative subject to write about therefore she sought out the help from the black maids to talk about their experiences good or bad, but mostly bad treatment fro white families. I cried at the way whites treated blacks. I cried at the love the black maids had for the white babies they raised. Yet, their courage to face adversity in their lives is to be applauded.
Five Stars and my favorite to win an Oscar this year.
A peacock is out to conquer China and stop Po from stopping him. This time, we learn more about Po's past, where he came from and what happened to his parents. Po still clueless to danger in front of him. This is a funny sequel.

Lady Mary said yes to Matthew Crawley!!! And that's how Season Two ends. However, John was done having any sympathy for John Bates who now looks to spending life in prison for allegedly killing his wife. Sir Richard is no longer engaged to Lady Mary and very well could expose her secret to the entire country but who cares! She's got Matthew and unfortunately, Ms. Swire is dead as well as William. I don't know when Season three begins but I know it is not soon enough. I am going to watch this season over again! It was Spectacular!

Movies We Watch
This movie is about two brothers that find themselves fighting in a half a million UFC match; Their relationship was marred by their former alcoholic abusive father who's wife left him and took one of the sons who later comes back seeking help from his estranged father and help him train for the fight, unbeknown to him his estranged brother who's about to lose his house and finds himself going back to fighting to save his house. Nick Nolte plays the alcoholic father and no wonder he earned a well deserved Oscar nomination for this role; I felt sorry for him all throughout this movie. If you are into UFC cage fighting you should watch this movie; I like good fights and choosing between the brothers was very heartening but I did have my favorite from the get go.
We give it 4 UFC's Stars!
One thing I have learned about alien movies is if you want to beat the aliens get to the source as fast you can if you want to live! Harrison Ford plays the tough bad guy and...gulp...Daniel Craig plays the cowboy who finds himself with an alien bracelet who doesn't remember how he got in the first place; what we wondered was why he was casted for this movie role, for heavens sake, he's freaking James Bond! He's an English man trying to do a western accent. We noticed his lines were short and the first 10 minutes of the movie he doesn't speak a word. Let's keep Daniel Craig across the pond. No big surprises in this movie and we figured it out pretty quick.
We give it. 2 Aliens; these dudes were the only watchable thing in this movie.
Tom Cruise playing another spy movie who is trying to clear his name. The difference between this movie VS. Ethan Hunt very little, he was more comical in this movie. Tom Cruise rocks as an action star period but I think he's co-star, Cameron Diaz, was not adequately cast for this role, she's showing her age and we were not very impressed with her, I'd advise her to stay with comedy playing the ditsy blond; she's she's not an action star. We kept coming back to the amazing Mr. and Mrs. Smith movie; this Knight and Day movie shows absolutely no originality, thus it did have very funny moments but it did fall short as far as a surprising ending.

Movies We Watch
Ethan Hunt comes back to clear his organizations name (IMF) after being accused of bombing the Russian Kremlin and the IMF is blamed and dismantled and so Ghost Protocol is formed to discover who was behind the bombing and to recover secret nuclear codes. The action scenes in this movie were brilliant and amazing to watch, again, Tom Cruise is amazing as Ethan Hunt and his supporting cast gave great perfomances and as always witty! This is a must purchase movie for us and we think this is one of the best M.I movies they've made yet. It will be very hard to replace Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, he is, like all of us, showing his age but still looking pretty good.

Sherlock returns again to investigate Professor Moriarty who is scheming war between European countries, however Sherlock has no proof and seeks out his partner Dr. Watson to help him but he's getting married but not before seeking the help from a Gypsie. I enjoyed the first Sherlock movie, this one was enjoyable but I felt rather long, it doesn't dissapoint listening how Dr. Watson and Holmes interact.
3 Sherlock Stars.
This is the story of three men who have been laid off and are trying to survive in a very tough (current)economy. We see how these three men cope by being unemployed, if you have ever been laid off, you know the feeling. One has spent 30 years of his life but is given a great retirement package and stocks, the second spends the next four months denying his severance paychecks are about to end and facing foreclosure, the last one takes it very hard and makes a life decision he could regret. This movie shows you the greed of CEO's and how the rest of us are scrapping by. Hard to watch.

Another Alien Invasion movie where the cast has to find out how to destroy the Aliens, well after two days if the environment and water hasn't killed them off, what then? John and I figured it out pretty quickly. We also figured out we are done with Alien movies unless it has Sigourney Weaver in it, she can kick some Alien's butt!

Movies We Watch
I'll start by saying that the color Green is my favorite color. The Green Lantern not so much. It lacked the AB-mazing personality of Thor, and Charisma of Captain America. All in all it's a forgettable movie you'll probably likely to watch at the movie theater if you can spare a dollar and bearing uncomfortable seats and after checking IMDB it looks like Green Lantern 2 is coming in 2013 because at the end of this movie the liaison between the Green Lantern and that other outer space green planet out there some zillions light years away decides to try on the "Ring of Fear" and he likes it. Great! We now have to suffer and watch another Green Lantern movie.

Movie: Cars 2
Owen Wilson as the voice of Lighting McQueen did not live up as the exciting voice as it did in the first movie. I even questioned if it was Owen Wilson's voice, it did not sounded as enthusiastic as before. This story is actually not about Lighting McQueen but about Mater confused as a American Spy (CIA) and Green Fuel Energy. It was flat out boring and hardly any laughs. We got sick of hearing Mator talk. They did played that Cars song (the 80's group) "You Must Think I'm Crazy." That was cool, it took me back when .... At any rate, not worth seeing twice, however, there is a Toy Story short that was HILARIOUS! It made me laugh more than the entire Cars movie. Sad.
2 Mators.
Let's just say that John and I cried watching this sequel of Bambi. It picks up right where the first one left off. We see Bambi living with his father still waiting for his Mama (she died remember?) and his father is the King and he lacks the patience to rear his child. Therefore, he teaches him to be strong while looking to send him away with another family. This is a beautiful film of staying together as a family and finding the courage to remember those who are no longer with us.

Movies We Watch
Going back to 1962 where Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and Professor Xavien (James McAvoy) met in their younger years by discovering they were not alone in the world and together they convince other mutants who were not so lucky with their physical appearance to accept who they are and fight against Sebastian Shaw (Kevin Bacon) whose goal is to bring the U.S and Russia into a war collision. It was a rather good movie, not a spectacular movie. Hugh Jackman's small cameo was great and I did wish he was on it, but this movie was not about Wolverine but Magneto and Professor X. There was something missing and I cannot put my finger on it. Keving Bacon was amazing as Shaw, John and I both agreed he's an underrated actor.
Overall, I think it lacked connection between the younger mutants it sometimes fell unbelievable. It only left me wanting to watch the first X-Men movies.
2 1/2 First Class stars from me.
Upon looking for more period pieces drama movies on Netflix, I stumble upon Downtown Abbey and I immediately fell in love. Set in pre World War I England, it tells the story of the Crawleys who live in their Downtown Abbey castle and their servants. If you have seen Gosford Park and loved it, you will also love Downtown Abbey.
Lord Crawley has lost his next heir in the sinking of the Titanic who was to take ownership of the Abbey but now finds himself scrambling to find who will take his place upon his death, unfortunately, back in the day, his first daughter does not stand a chance to inherit the Abbey because only males inherit land. They are able to find a very distant charming cousin who is a lawyer who finds the Crawley's way of life not to keen with his own or the new way of life in London. He soon falls in love with the Lord's daughter Lady Mary Crawley who dislikes him.
Totally amazing series! Unfortunately, it plays in England first then it is shipped to the U.S for us poor Yankees to view it second. Season two will air in January here in the States. I can't wait! Huge cliffhanger at the end of season 1!

Movies We Watch
There is a very noticeable trend happening in super hero movies lately that I have happened to noticed. All the super heroes have super duper abs! It was like, "what was that" moment and with all due respect to my husband, I had to rewind; I would say Captain America and Thor have so far the best abs! So, on to the movie Thor and enough of Thor's Abs which were phenomenal, again, enough, I didn't think I was going to like this movie, but I found it pretty entertaining and it was funny, like Iron Man funny, comical. I love that flying hammer thingy he did, it was super!
I give it 5 ABS!
Movie: The Tourist
I had read the reviews prior to getting this movie but I decided that Angelina Jolie and Johnny Depp could do magic together, right? Wrong. This was supposed to be a suspenseful movie but it never lifted, as we spend the first forty five minutes watching Elise's (Angelina's) eyes; everyone was mesmerized by her beautiful eyes and then Johnny Depp comes in playing a tourist in Venice while Elise looks for Alexander Pierce who is wanted by police, they both meet and I guess fall in love? At any rate, this movie leaves you with nothing, we prefer Depp when he plays odd characters not himself. I found out way before the movie ended who Alexander Pierce was, duh.
We give it: 1 star. The reviews were right on this one.

Movies We Watch
Movie: Jane Eyre
This weekend I watched two different versions of this movie and I loved them both! However, I do like the guy playing Mr. Rochester in the 2011 version better than the 1996 but I loved the 1996 version ending better than the 2011 so, take your pick watch both versions and I believe there are so many versions of Jane Eyre I'm off to probably watch them all because I love a great love story! Jane Eyre, an orphan, her auntie hates her and sends her to a boarding school where they are much worse than her Aunt, there she, I'm assuming graduates and is off to her first job as a Governess and oops! falls in love with the Master of the House, Mr. Rochester who's got a bad temper but holds a dark secret in his castle. Want to know what it is? Read the book like I'm about to or watch the movie! I love period pieces movies!

Movie: I Will Follow
The one and only reason why I decided to watch this movie is because it deals with grief and at the moment that's exactly what I'm dealing with. So, I thought, "Why not?" it could offer me something that I have overlooked and it received good reviews but when you find yourself pushing the forward button on your remote control that's pretty much a flop in my mind. Most of the dialog was a joke! They talk about LeBron James against JayZ...really!? oh and they paused and give ovation to Obama on his inaugural speech! What!!! Dude, what that heck happened to the grieving piece of this movie. Actually, there was one very strong scene and I believe it was the only scene that had me crying; the daughter of the deceased was pretty upset why her mother treated everyone kindly but her. Ouch, this scene hit home for me but the rest ugh, was awful!
Don't watch it unless you like Obama and Lebron James.
1 Star because of that one scene I liked.

Movies We Watch
This movie is based on true life events about Trappist Catholic Monks who are stationed in Algeria whose community is terrorized by militia groups who want to overtake the government by killing foreigners to get ransom money to continue their operations. The Trappist Monks are dealt with a tough decision whether to leave or stay. If the leave, they leave the community behind whom they help and love, if they stay they run the risk of being terrorize or worst killed. But the question arises of what would Jesus want them to do? This is a beautiful movie that reminds you of the sacrifice that we as Christians have to endure to live our faith. I, uniquely felt in love with the silence these monks live, the hymns they sing and most importantly they way they celebrate Mass.
We give it: 5 Stars. A must see movie.
Starring Matthew McConaughey as a defense attorney who practically makes deals out of his car to and from court dates and does his best to represent his clients whether or not they are guilty until he is hired by a wealthy client who is accused of batter and Mick (Matthew) finds out his wealthy client is lying about his past. I like Matthew McConaughey only when his playing serious roles, I totally dislike his comedies.
We give it. 3 Stars.

Movies We Watch
Everyone yawns when I say that Captain America is my favorite comic hero and after watching this movie, I have to say that I felt patriotic and Captain America is my hero. The other movie I felt patriotic was after I watched Rambo IV. If you feel hopeless about the situation our country is currently on and want to feel patriotic and full of hope that 2012 will bring a much better direction for our country Captain America will come and save the day!
At any rate, Chris Evans does a great job performing as Captain America (I thought he was hilarious as the Human Torch!)as the first super soldier against the evil Red Skull played by Hugo Weavins as the former Agent Mr. Smith in the Matrix movies (this guy is a great villain but I prefer him kicking butt against Neo.)
I LOVED IT! 5 Stars and an Oscar for the best torso! Oh, and this was a movie date night for John and I! Thanks Mom!!
This final part of the final book was pretty good but I would like to say that a movie NEVER beats reading the book. At any rate, this movie was filled with action scenes and dramatic sequences and it moved faster than the first installment of the Deathly Hallows. It was sad to watch Snape die after he was judge like the bad guy in pretty much all the seven books! I felt because bad myself Snape reveal how much he had helped Dumbledore until the end. I didn't like how the book ended with....SPOILER ALERT!!!!!.... all them getting married to each other and having kids and all that stuff but I guess Rowling just wanted to put the last nail in her series.
4 stars! And this was another movie date night for John and I! Thanks Mom!
Having watched the ORIGINAL A-Team series with my Dad back in the you know, 80's, I didn't have alot of hopes for this movie but it was suprisingly good, it kept me watching and I was laughing! One member of the A-Team that didn't do it for me was the guy who played Mr. T. I mean come on! "I PITY THE FOOL!" The guy did alright but it is hard to play Mr. T. At any rate, it was well written, jokes left and right for some odd reason I found funny, lots of gun shooting, dead people and the A-Team gets set up in a crime they didn't commit. Bradley Cooper was hilarious!

Based on a true story based of Danny Green an Irishman who gets caught up working with the Mafia in the 60's in Cleveland then he goes on his own against the Italian mafia. Alot of dead people and A LOT of car bombing explosions. What was cool about watching this movie was that they will show off and on real TV clips of news reporting. The Italian Mafia hates Danny Green so much they try to kill him many times to no avail including blowing up his house. Former Batman, Val Kilmer plays the cop. John kept asking if that was Val Kilmer former Batman, I said yes everytime, he's just been eating alot of donuts with other cops to play this role.

Movies We Watch
This is the story about martial arts instructor Ip Man who's fighting style is Wing Chun. In the first IP Man I movie version about his life, he lives a frugal life yet he doesn't own a school but everyone around him respects him and challenges him to a dual winning every time, until China is invaded by the Japanese during World Word II. Everyones' life changes including his and his family. The martial arts fight in this movie is amazing!!
We give it 5 stars!
You guessed it! as soon as we found out there was part two we streamed it and watch it with John's family and this sequel did not disappoint! This sequel follows the first movie, where Ip Man has decided to teach Wing Chun to provide for his family. The fighting scenes are amazing, I would say better than the Matrix. Here we have English colonization in Hong Kong and instead of bowing to his rivals' demands he pushes to open his school one way or the other.
FACT: This is a true life story about Ip Man, he's Bruce Lee's teacher!
We give it 5 stars!!

What does one do after watching Wing Chun fighting style!? People are inspired! watch and see!
To do something special for John's birthday and considering our tight budget, we went to the movies this past Monday night! It was so great to get out of the house just the two of us!
So, the last of the Transformers movie they take you back to 1969 moon landing with Neil Armstrong and Apollo 11 and they discover a Transformer spaceship, and NASA decides to hide it from everyone until flash forward to the present day...2011, the Decepticons, who never die, are ready to get even with the Autobots (same story, different day) and bring their planet to our planet earth.
This movie has great fighting scene against the Decepticons and Autobots and very noisy fighting. Not for kids! Some scenes are too sexual for kids to watch unless you are a irresponsible parent who doesn't care what your kid watches in front of you! It doesn't make sense why Hollywood needs to show this when it is all about the Transformers. John said that the cartoon version is way better because they don't show Sam feeling up a woman.
We give 3 1/2 stars.
