Children's Aquarium

We decided to do something different than hitting the pool this weekend and we drove to Dallas Fair Park, Children's Aquarium.

 Sofia and Raquel were very excited to visit a new place!

This is a croc-Turtle who is 75 years old and 175lbs he's huge! I've never seen anything like this.

The girls didn't want to touch the fishes on this tank. I don't blame them. I wouldn't either.

This is a huge turtle as well, however, this one is handicapped. It's missing his right two fins.

It has been 5 years since I've been at the Fair Park.

4th of July 2012

Instead of watching the fireworks from our front yard, this year we decided to walk 10 minutes to the open field near our house to watch the fireworks with everyone else in our neighborhood. So we load the girls in the wagon and off we went.

When we got there there weren't that many people but that soon changed very fast as it got darker.

We did noticed, however, that people were parking at 5pm.

My mom bought the girls toy phones and Sofia decided to take pictures like mommy.

"Where are the fireworks?" 

There they are! Finally!

It is so nice we don't have to drive anywhere to see fireworks and fight traffic afterwards! Yippee!

TSA Testing My Drink at the Airport

While I and my family waited at the Corpus Christi Airport, we noticed TSA walking towards the gates in front of us with Q-Tips and a sign. We thought someone was in trouble, then we noticed they were testing people's drinks they had purchased from the airport convenient stores. Then thirty minutes later they came to our gate and I had bought bottle water. The TSA agent come to me flashing a stupid sign that said they were going to test my water. "What do you think is in my water?" I asked and she looked at me with a face of how dare you speak or question me? I asked again since she didn't respond. "Well, we are testing for anything." "Like what?" I replied confronting her. "Dangerous Chemicals." She finally responded. "What makes you think the store is selling dangerous chemicals?" I asked. She didn't respond but I thought it was stupid that they will be testing people's drinks inside the gate. John said they were just wasting time since Corpus Christi is such small airport. They will need a whole different crew for Dallas.

Answer my darn my question, TSA, since I'm a legitimate Taxpayer!


GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. -

Passengers say their problem is not with the rules at the airport. They understand why drinks are not allowed through security, but when they buy one while they wait for their flight, they say the TSA should not ask to test it.

Passengers say traveling is a big enough stress, but now some are worried the drinks they are getting are not safe.

The TSA would not say what they are testing for or why they are doing it, but travelers say they have a right to know.

"I'm always glad that my safety is a priority, I just think testing drinks after they've already been bought might be a little extreme," infrequent flyer Jennifer Smart said.

"The water or or the juices or anything you buy here in the airport, TSA is going to come over and look and check and test it? That's just ridiculous," world traveler Thomas Burgard said.

Movies We Watch

Movie: Snow White and the Huntsman


One of our date nights, we decided to go watch this movie and it was amazing! Not so much the ending since they left it open-ended but it was all out action movie. Charlize Theron was outstanding as the stepmother and the twist and turns of this Snow White version left you guessing what would happen next. Snow White father was murdered by the new stepmother and put away in a cell forgotten until the stepmother needed her heart and the chase starts for Snow White but wait! They hired a huntsman to go search for the Snow White in the dark forest and the seven dwarfs are actually really cool! Snow White is my least favorite Disney princess, so this movie made her cool in my book.

4 Stars!

Movie: Tinker, Taylor, Soldier, Spy


An excellent spy movie, if you like spy movies like I do. However, this movie moves slow to figure out who is the mole in a small spy government agency who is passing british secrets to the soviets. I had to wake up John several times during this movie. I couldn't believe he found it boring. I think it was amazing!

4 Stars!

Movie: Underworld Awakening


What a disappointing movie to follow the first two which were amazing. But we thought we would give it a chance since John is a fan of the first two. Clarice wakes up after twelve years being frozen after being captured by the humans as she escapes she figures out, she had become a mom whose daughter, the humans, have been utilizing as an experiment to make the Lycans powerful to beat out the vampires. It just doesn't work at all. She's a mom? really! ugh.

2 Stars.

Movie: Ghost Rider, Spirit of Vengeance


Another flop from the first Ghost Rider that wasn't too bad! Oh, and Nicolas Cage he's looking really old! You almost feel bad for him. Get another guy to play Ghost Rider, or just do over! Johnny Blaze has traveled across the world to control his curse and suddenly he is looking for the son of satan in exchange to find his soul. I couldn't wait for this movie to be OVER!  In fact, we were glad when it was over and Nicolas Cage needs to go back to drama, maybe playing the father of a trouble teenager or something.

Our Family Vacation

It looks like after almost a month of frustration John has figured out how I can post to my blog again. I should have asked him instead of figuring this out by myself.

At any rate, these are our pictures from our June vacation to South Padre/Corpus Christi. Here's Sofia and Raquel checking out the planes from Hobby airport.

 To our surprise, Sofia and Raquel did well on the plane rides neither cried or threw tantrums. They were busy looking at the clouds and eating chips!

Not everyone liked the beach. Raquel didn't like the waves and the fact that they pulled you back so she clung to me like a fish star to a rock!

I'm Fed Up with Blogger!

I cannot post any of our vacation pictures on blogger! I have tried numerous times and nothing shows! I'm getting to the end of my rope with Blogger and I'm really considering Wordpress! Blogger has continued to change the way you post among other things. If I cannot post any of my pictures wihthin a week, I'm transferring!!! This sucks!!!!

Five on Friday - Lost

1.How easily to do you get lost?

Harldy, unless, I get lazy and don't write down directions well. Then I freak out and start calling.



2.What subject in school made you feel most lost?

Hands down, Math! All the way to College.


3.What’s something you’ve recently misplaced and have not yet found?

My Sleep. I lost it in February 13th, 2008 when I delivered Sofia and I still have not been able to fully replace it. Things got worse after Raquel was born. One day I hope I get to find it and embrace it again.


4.What’s something you found and were able to return to its owner?

Never. I usually just go to the lost and found section and leave it up to them to find the owner.


5.When you need some alone time and don’t want anyone to know where you are, where are you most likely to disappear to?

In my couch. Funny enough, my girls call my name and look everywhere in the house but the couch.

Movies We Watch

1. Midnight in Paris - Gil, a writer and his fiancee travel to Paris (with her parents) He falls in love and immediately suggests they should move to the city of love, but Inez (his fiancee) will never dream of leaving her Hollywood home for some "old city" such as Paris. Their differences in lifestyle and friends comes out while Gil decides to walk the streets of Paris at night, alone, while discovering a different world and the woman of his dreams. John and I loved this movie because of its surprising turns and events that take place while rooting for Gil to leave his fiancee.

We give it 3 1/2 Stars.









2. The Avengers - We watched this movie on opening weekend and it served us as a reminder not to EVER  go see a movie on opening weekend unless we are ready to wait in line forever only to get moved to a smaller theater house, which has very limited seats, instead of the big house screen. It was close to midnight before we started watching this movie, which had a lot to do with my enjoying the movie because I became very sleepy. It's a great movie, lots of superheroes bunched together throwing punches, jabs and jokes left and right. Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) very hot. The story line so-so, but who cares, when you have Robert Downing, Jr., Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans all in one screen you don't need much of a story line.

3. Tower Heist - A financer is arrested for fraud including robbing employee's from their pension; Ben Stiller and his buddies decide to get revenge and rob the financer from one of his secret safe's in his highrise penthouse, only problem nothing goes as planned and the robber's (Ben Stiller, Eddie Murphy and Matthew Broderick) decide to steal something much more valuable. These three together made us laugh especially Matthew Broderick, his persona doesn't change from his Buller's Day Off movie. He's hilarious without trying! Eddie Murphy, amazing!

We give it 4 Stars!

When it burns it hurts really bad!

Like the sands on the beach, knowledge is endless!

Well, that's pretty easy. It stretches as big as the sky to love and love and love as many as it can.

Not one family member is made the same way. And that makes family an interesting ride.
