My Favorite Things this Month - December

1. Etzy - Since I became unemployed, I sought to look for employment and start something on the side that would keep me busy while making money on the way and since I love going to Estate Sales, I decided to open up a vintage shop and so for today I have made 14 sales! On the other shop, I have sold 6 bags! This new venture is not replacing my income but I'm not sitting around for something to happen, I decided to make something happen. It can be slow at times but it is rewarding when someone buys something from my shop. I'll keep this thing going and see where it takes me.

2. Skinny Margaritas - Having lunch with my best friend, I discovered a skinny alternative to drinking margaritas without the mount of calories and still the awesome taste of a Margarita drink!

3. Christmas Snow - I'm not a winter person; I much rather spend Christmas in a beach blowing fireworks but once in a while seeing snow on Christmas day is ok. As a parent, I enjoyed watching my girls watching and playing with snow. Priceless.

4. Craigslist - Our leather couches were in such a bad shape we were embarrased and since I'm unemployed, we decided to find descent couches through Craigslist. At about 1:30am on the 26th, I found them and the next morning, we were on our way to Allen to pick them up. We're just happy, we don't have a furniture bill every month.

A Seaman Christmas 2012

Well, Christmas has once again come and gone and this morning the roads looked yucky so we decided not to risk it so the order of the day was to do nothing for a change and watch movies (Disney) of course, eat and eat and eat. So, here's just a little glimpse of the last three days!

Last Thursday, Sofia and Raquel had an early school release so I treated them to Chick Fil A. You can tell Raquel was super happy.

On Sunday, John and the girls decided to decorate a gingerbread house and of course they were more than excited because it was candy decorations.

They paused several times to lick lick lick.

This is going to be a yearly tradition.

John did pretty good, as always!

Then I came with this crazy idea of "hey, I got some sprinklers, what do you think!" and this mess was created.

At the end, there was icing left over and I had another bright idea.

Everyone was beyond happy.

Christmas Eve with the Dunn family! Always amazing!

Then on Christmas Day we got ourselves Snow! So, we went outside!

Six hours later, we got ourselves 2 inches of snow!

I feel blessed!

And this is the sign of a good time had by all!

I Don't Mean On The Phone - Song Title

Sofia has been waking up signing for the last three weeks. This is one of many, many songs she comes out with. All original! All before breakfast.

And the one below was a Friday night a month ago where John turned off all the lights and use flashlights and they had a lot of fun while I was cleaning toilets. Yep, crazy things happen in this house. The tall light is John and the lower lights are Sofia and Raquel.

Little Saints Christmas Program

All Saints Little Saints Christmas Program 2012 and Sofia dressed as an Angel! She was excited to participate in a program where she has only sat in the steps like Raquel this year and sing with the rest of the children.

With her classmates!

I was surprised Raquel kept her headband in place!

After the show, all the parents got up close to the stage and clicked away!

Andrew, my nephew, was the Cow moons ago!

My beautiful Angel!

Santa's Village 2012

It was the last day to go see Santa and thankfully it was a warm day! So, we sacrifice and turned off the Cowboys game and drove to Richardson.

Raquel was beyond herself to see Santa!

Raquel wanted to climb on top of Santa. They both asked for a Unicorn Pony.

The Man without a Jacket.

Raquel was still beyond herself for touching Santa's beard.

Seaman Happenings

I'm back on the blogger saddle after blogger made me buy more space to post my pictures and I accepted. So, from now on, I will refrain from posting stupid stuff unrelated to my world only. Therefore, here's a quick rundown of what's been happening in the life of the Seaman family.

For Thanksgiving, Sofia's class made Indian hats and each child was given an Indian name, Sofia's name was: The Girl with the Soft Voice. I was surprised because she's pretty loud when she's in the house.

Sofia loves headbands and has them in all the colors you can imagine and she wears a different color every single day and this day she decided to share them with Coco Beware. He wasn't happy at all.

I do like this look on Coco.

Texas Weather: One day is warm and the other is cold. This day it was georgous so we did an activity outside and then some tea with cookies.

Tinkerbell Tea Set came in handy!

John took a week's vacation on Thanksgiving Week; I noticed he was rather bored and I said, "you know, let's clean our closet," he said, "No, let's replace the carpet."

My Father N Law is the man! Without his help John would still be working in our room!

John was tired! We barely saw him on his VACATION WEEK!

Thanksgiving Day, since the weather was warm, John decided to touch on his Scottish 1/4 side.

Raquel loving on Grandma Libby. Coco too.

Raquel and her cute curls! I've learned to love them. She gets so many compliments everywhere we go.

At the park!

The Christmas Tree. I much prefer a plastic one.

Helping John decorate the tree. They had a blast!

Movies We Watch

Movie: Wrath of The Titans

Since we didn't have an original version to compare this one to, it turned out to be a not so bad movie. It moved fast, at times it was hard to understand so we turned on the subtitles because the god's seemed to mumbled a lot and it didn't have anything to do that John and I were sharing the only beer left.

The Son of Zeuss, Perseus, decries his god part of himself and decides to remain a mere human but after several years, he gets a visit from Zeus, his father, warning him of a calamity coming and that the era of the gods will soon end. Well, don't you know it, the calamity happened and this time they did great at the action scenes, battle scenes, no love scene thankfully and the ending, we didn't expect it. Not a bad movie, definitely better than the first one.

We give it: 3 Stars.

Movie: Haywire

Roger Ebert gave it good stars so I decided to give it a chance and it didn't fail to disappoint. A CIA spy is set up because, "she knows to much." Gina Carano stars in this movie. John immediately recognises who she is as a martial arts or some sort of UFC fighter, I forgot what he said and that she's one of the best, well, her acting is not bad but her voice is rather one dimension, no feeling but again, she was playing a CIA spy besides, Michael Fassbender, a real good actor among, Michael Douglas and Antonio Banderas.

So, she was set up over a Barcelona job and now she's running for her life but like a good spy she will go to the ends of the world to clear her name. I'm into spy anything so, I truly enjoyed the way the movie flowed and the action scenes and all the spy talk like, "watch your six." John is like what? I said, he meant, "Watch your back." He asked me how I knew that.

We give it: 3 Stars. The supporting cast was amazing this is the only reason why I gave it 3 stars.

Sofia Can Read!

Yes, we did it! I say, we, because it took patience and discipline to sit down every day and teach her how to read. I could have chosen other books to teach her but hands down, for me, this was the best after researching all over the place. Sofia struggled to put sounds together until lesson 26, it was like, "oh! that's easy Mommy." "Really?" She fought me, we cried, we laughed, we hugged, we were tired but it all paid off! And to reward her hard work, we went down to the library and checked out "Level 1" reading books for her and she's been reading to the dogs, Raquel, me and John since this past Saturday. I also took her to Chick Fil A as a reward.

Her preschool teachers are amaze at how much she knows.

I'm very proud of her and I had a beer that night as my reward. Next year, I start with Raquel teaching her ABC's and to write her name. This book is amazing! Heck, I even learned how to read better English!

Her letter writing has definately improved since July when we started. She got faster and her letters much better!

Poor Raquel, she's been asking me she wants to study like Sofia but I keep telling her to be patient and wait until next year. So, she goes and pretends she reads books like Sofia.

Here's Sofia reading lesson number 99!

Raquel's 3rd Birthday!

My baby is growing so fast! Today, she turned 3 years old and she's officially not a baby anymore. I do, do, do want a third baby! It was a very small celebration, very few people (minus one.)

Ice Cream Cake! Raquel's favorite!

Raquel enjoyed when we sang happy birthday to her! She felt special!

She blew all three candles!

Sofia trying out the cake before everyone.

Caught red handed!

My beautiful daughters!
