My Favorite Things This Month - February

1. Sofia Turns 5 - She's getting taller. She can read. She starting to spell words. She knows what she likes and dislikes and she's vocal about it but that doesn't mean I don't make the final decision, I still do. She likes to look at herself in the mirror and say, "I'm beautiful Mommy." and my response to her is, "Yes, you are because you have a good heart."

2. Valentine's Party - I like throwing parties even thought I still don't know how to be a good host but eventually even if some things go wrong, people still have a great time.

3. Ricardo Arjona Concert - I'm yet to post the concert pics but I will very soon! I love going to concerts especially when this guy comes to Dallas, I don't mind spending on a pricey ticket to see him up close.

Five on Friday - Unsual Stuff

1.What’s the most surprising or unusual thing to be found in your wallet, purse, or backpack?

When I find money in a forgotten corner of my purse or wallet. It is always a nice thing to find. Always.

2.What’s the most surprising or unusual thing to be found on your computer’s hard drive?

Lost family pictures and/or videos. We're always like "oh, I looked young!"

3.What’s the most interesting thing hanging on your walls?

My babies pictures. I just can't believe how time flies and I used to changed diaper not so long ago.

4.What’s the most uncharacteristic thing in your fridge?

A frozen beer bottle. I need to get it out.

5.What’s something you’ve done in the past year that you thought was going to be awful but turned out pretty good?

I was so afraid of delivering my babies but it was surely a relief.

Movies We Watch

I just remembered I haven't done this post since November. So here's a rundown of all the movies we have watched since. From awesome to pretty bad.

1. Skyfall - Daniel Craig kicks butt again and this time is again better than the last James Bond and someone very important dies in this movie. I can't say in case someone reads this post. So, James Bond is out to get a hacker who is out to get everyone in MI-6 while James Bond tries to get back in to physicall shape after a traumautic even that left him for dead. The action is non-stop! Definitaley one of the best we have seen!

We give it: 5 stars!

2. The Bourne Legacy - Anything that resembles James Bond and spies, I will watch. I have not watch the last three Bourne movies with that "other" actor because I just don't like that other "actor," but I do like Jeremy Renner and he does amazing action scenes and the plot is great! The U.S. government is out to kill all the Bourne spies after their program gets in trouble and to protect it, they decide to start over and kill all the Bourne's but one escapes and that's when the trouble begins.

We give it: 5 Stars!

3. Prometheus - In the 80's, I was really into Alien movies. Now in my 40's, I don't enjoy them much, I really get scare now. Weird. Anyways, People on earth want to find out where they "come from." So, they set out on a space journey to look for their ancestors or whover created them. Well, after three years searching they found it. Right. But as we all know from our Alien movie watching experience, Aliens don't want to be our friends like E.T. does. No. They are out to get us and have us for snack. Good plot, and this movie is open ended. Meaning, a sequel is coming.

We give it. 3 Stars

4. MIB3 - It was funny. Aliens just got uglier in this movie. The plot was ok. Just O.K.

We give it: 2 1/2 stars

5. The Dark Knight Rises - I was so excited to finally see this move until I found myself trying to figure out when it would really start. It never did for us. The bad wasn't really scary. Batman was out beating itself out of guilt and shame and no one cared for him anymore. So the city was being destroyed....I didn't care. The only thing that we did like was Batman's car/motorcyle. They were cooler! Could have been better.

We give it 2 1/2 Stars

6. The Hunger Games - I like to watch games, I just don't like kids killing each other. That is the only thing we didn't like about it. If it could have been different besides the killing, I would have liked it even more.

We give it: 2 Stars

7. Total Recall - I was waiting for Arnold to make a cameo to give this movie a boost but he never showed up. Remakes can be total bust.

We give it: 1 1/2 Stars

8. Dark Shadows - Johnny Depp with another disguise. It suits him having a disguise in every movie because he's just not that good looking anymore. So, he's a vampire whose been freed after many years and looks to venge the witch who made him a vampire. Not a great vampire movie, and not so funny either.

We give it: 1 1/2 stars

9. Killer Joe - Bad movie for everyone to see! Matthew McConaughey I didn't like this character at all! You are better than this. I felt disgusted and worst it was shot in Dallas! Why filmed trash movies in Dallas!

We give it: 0 Stars.

Sofia's Birthday - 5 years old!

Five years ago, I didnt have this many gray hairs that I do today. Nevertheless, Sofia will always be my baby, and to make her feel special we ate lunch and dinner at Chick Fil-A today. And it so happened that Ash Wednesday fell on her birthday this year so off we went to mass to welcome the new Lent season and Sofia and Raquel were excited about their ash crosses on their foreheads.

My Beautiful Baby Sofia!

And my Beautiful Curly Baby Raquel just happy to be at her favorite place!

He can't believe it's been 5 years. He and I look tired every day.

It's time for tough love!

They both feel the same.

Raquel didn't say much during dinner time. Too busy enjoying her chicken nuggets.

First Birthday cake out of three!

Sofia was beyond herself.

I don't care about gray hairs and/or wrinkles around my eyes, I am blessed to be a mom.

Our Church Leader

It takes great courage and humility to resign any type of position. Thank you for the years of servitude to the Lord. May God bless you always.

5 Things About Me Today

1. I love it when my daughters kiss me. Today, in particular, I was saying goodbye to Raquel before she headed to her classroom when I bend over and asked for a kiss. Instead, I got vomit thrown on the side of my face. I could only laugh. I cleaned myself and gave her a kiss instead.

2. Big week this week! Sofia turns 5 and Ash Wednesday falls on her birthday this year!! And for the first time, they will be coming along with me to Ash Wednesday mass at noon tomorrow!

3. I got to buy me new running shoes plus insoles! My plantar Fasciitis is hurting again. A sign my running shoes have had enough.

4. My sister Yesenia is a big shopper! We have gone to several Estate Sales together and she's showing me not to fear spending. My fear is that I'm not working!

5. I'm taking a liking to the two fishes John has brought to our house. And as it always happens, I end up feeding them too. At least he's cleaning their tank since it gets rather yucky after three days.
