My Favorite Things This Month - October

1. Throwback Cowboys Jersey - For my birthday this month, John gave me what I wanted. The Cowboys Throwback Jersey! I love it, it is so comfortable! Now, I look like a real fan!

2. Outback Sweet Potato Fries - This month we went to Outback twice and twice I ordered this amazing fries. I am not a fan of fries, period. But these I can eat all day long!

A Seaman Halloween 2012

As it is tradition for John to buy pumpkins and carve them with...

A SAW ZALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The girls and I steered away from this mess.

This type of carving requires lots of expertise. I have to say, he's pretty good...steady hand.

The girls didn't like the Saw big noise.

Ms. Raquel went as Little Red Riding Hood at school and looked adorable! and she was the only Red Riding Hood at her entire school!

Sofia as Strawberry Shortcake. We love the hat!

The freckles were her idea. She wanted to match exactly like shortcake minus the red hair. She wanted me to dye it red and I said no.

Coco Beware

When we got home tonight, I am always greeted by my three dogs, but not this time only two greeted me then I started looking for Coco and this is what I found.

Coco Beware had been digging on Sofia's Halloween bag for candy for the last two weeks. I have been careful to place the bag where he couldn't reach it but before we left today I didn't check where Sofia had left it. I don't know how he did it but he was determined to get the candy!

He's my troublesome Coco Beware!

Five on Friday - Vice Squad

1.What is your history with cigarettes?

I did them in my early 20's just to experiment, I did like them but I was too cheap to buy them, I would have to say that at the time my friends gave them to me like candy. Then, the smoking got pretty out of hand when my cousin died, then I smoked like crazy. Then, I started playing soccer and running and I couldn't do both. So, I quit cold-turkey. Now, I have ashtma and I can't even be standing close to a smoker.

2.What is your history with alcoholic drink?

My history with alcohol is on going thing! I LOVE LOVE LOVE wine and once in a while when I have run out of wine, I pick me up beer. I ain't an alcoholic just love to drink when I feel like it. Thankfully, my husband doesn't judge me and he's actually picked up on wine like me.

3.What was the worst trouble you got into at school?

When I got caught cheating in my math test. I was so embarrassed in humiliated by my teacher. Thankfully, he did in private and didn't blured it to the entire world! I respected for that. But ended up forgiving me. I will never forget him!

4.What’s something you got away with in school but shouldn’t have?

Some things are better left unsaid. Besides, I hated school here in the States, it just totally sucked!

5.Who’s your partner in crime?

Patricia Galbraith!!! My friend for life!

Movies We Watch

It only took 2 months to watch 2 movies! We are so busy the TV is only on for Football Sunday!

1. The Artist - You can't hear the dialog between the characters because is a silent movie. You pretty much have pay attention to their movements, feelings and actions to figure out what's going on. Here and there they show you subtitles of what's being said. In the beginning, I wasn't thrilled about not having sound, but fifteen minutes in I was really into the movie and not minding it was a silent movie. Set in the late 20's, sound movies are finding their way out but not for the main character who doesn't think "talkies Cinema" is going to work and suddendly finds himself out of work due to new faces coming in to the spotlight.

Safe for kids to watch!

We give it: 5 stars.

2. Carnage - Oh boy. If you are a parent, you might find this movie somewhat interesting. This drama movie tells of two married couples who find themselves at odds when each others kids have a fight at school and neither set of parent wants to take the blame. It is hilarious the way they start arguing making their case.

We give it: 3 stars.

Raquel is Potty Trained!

It took only 3 weeks once again, same time frame as it took me to train Sofia but this time there was less crying and much less accidents. I'm even impressed Raquel is not waking up in the middle of the night to go the bathroom.

Therefore, ADIOS DIAPERS! WIPES AND BABY BUTT CREAM!

Yes, I do want another baby but I am not 25 anymore.

Yey!

Sofia - The New Latina Disney Princess - Sort of

John and I have, in fact, in the past talked about if or when Disney will release a hispanic Disney princess since they have now come up with just about every ethnicity princess there is for example:

Lilo - Haiwaiin, not exactly a princess but the movie was a huge hit
Mulan - China
Jasmine - Arabia
Pocahontas - American Indian
Tiana - African American
Belle - French
Ariel - A Mermaid not exactly an ethnicity but from Atlantis, so this classifies as an ethinicity

So, what's left? Philipino, Japanese, Dutch, German, Brazilian. Abvoiously, you can't do them all, but I'm truly voting for a real Hispanic Princess movie like from Spain, they still have a King and Queen over there. Or perphaps, I should write a script and present it since Disney is lacking the research on my culture. What's worse, they are even suggesting she's of hispanic heritage, people are supposing she's hispanic because of the spelling of the name. Then, why bother?

Well, that's just it, I won't even bother my real Princess (daughter) Sofia (spelling is the same) about this new Princess. I just dont' buy it. Not yet.

Happenings - Seaman Family

Believe it or not, one day after clean up, John decided he would arrange the doll's house and this is what he did. On the first floor, you see the princesses having tea with Winnie the Pooh and some mermaid having a bath. On the second floor, you see two couples you have Belle's prince telling his story about how he and Belle met. On the top floor, Aladdin is in bed with Snow White and Jasmine. I'm not sure what to think about the top floor.

After the doll house, John moves on to the kitchen.

Guess who this is reading a book.

Sofia and Raquel at the movie theather with their 3D glassess getting ready to watch Nemo.

I'm not a fan of 3D movies, for one, I must wear my prescription glasses underneath the 3D glasses which puts pressure around the top of my nose. Two, I just plainly don't see the big deal about 3D.

She's got the Arevalo serious look. This was has look throughout the entire movie.

Two sisters sharing and enjoying a book. I love this!

Aunty Patti!

Sofia in total cooking action! Rolling some flour dough to make Sopapillas!

Taking further advice from the family Top Chef!

And right back to it!

Since I'm unemployed, I no longer shop at the $5 dollar aisle, I have moved down to the $1.00 Targe aisle.

The dolls going for a ride - Sofia's idea.

This happened today as I was making my rounds to kiss Sofia goodnight, John made her blanket like a mermaid shape. Sofia was thrilled.

Microchip Car Headed for the U.S.A

I drive an SUV because I have toddlers with car seats and it is quite comfortable that I sit higher than the average car. Today, I read that in three years, in which case I will still very likely still be driving my SUV, India will be shipping their Tata Nano car or as I call it, Microchip car that fits only the driver their companion and one bag for only $3,000.00. Great for students and teenagers. Not so great for me, because I don't usually look down, like deep down on the road for bugs and insects.

I hope they come in very bright colors. This car is very scary if you get hit sitting inside one of them.

No Homework for French Children

Today, the world news got weird.

Up first, the French President, whoever he, is trying to push a homework ban and wants to get rid of homework...

He states that poor kids don't stand a chance because parents are not likely to be at home to help them with homework versus the other kids who are priviledge enough that their parents do care and actually take time away from their selfish nature and sit with them and help with homework. But get this: They only go 4 days a week!!! Geez! and now no homework! He believes homework should be done at school not at home that children should play outside.

Kids don't play outside anymore, they hooked on gadgets! Because their poor parents want them out of their way. Ugh!

Talk about spreading the ignorance but that's why we have France to start it.

A few years back, California wanted to pass a ban similiar to do this because children were at risk of developing Tuberculosis. All I got was headaches. I came to the States and my dad never sat down with me and I manage to graduate. I figured if he didn't care, I had to find it in me to care enough about me.

Diamond Planet

This is what happens when I'm up at 2am, I find stuff.

So, there is a planet in our Milky Way Galaxy that is largely a third of its mass, diamonds among other minerals. There is no water and it gets about 3,900 degrees Fahrenheit. Darn it! Forget Mars, let's get going on this planet instead!

The Ugliest Shoes....EVER!

For a fun post, I decided to poke fun at the ugliest shoes ever made by very famous artist. Even they can produce ugly stuff:

No Sheep were harmed making these. Only their souls!

The German artist actually uses dead animals to make these! So, if you want to walk like an animal, buy them. UGLY!

Gameboy Platforms: In case the board meeting goes long, you have your game boy within reach.

By Adidas: Teddy Bear Snickers. Get them while supplies last. I wonder how kids are supposed to run in these?

I'm finding it very hard to explain these shoes. Looks more like a step stool than shoes.
People who like to wear sandals do it for one main reason: Easy to put, easy to take off. This is half boot, half sandal. UGLY!

By Nina Ricci: I see Nina likes ridicoulous platforms but why even bother with the heel?

Alexaner McQueen: No. I want a healthy back.

Lacoste: Everything is wrong about this including the bad tan lines this shoe will leave you and how in the world one could possibly put this on?

Balenciaga: Lego heels. This one could have actually worked in the 80's. Too bad.

Louis Vuitton: A vintage boot of some sort that can't figure out what decade fits in.

The Sock Shoe: Retail price only $380 for the grandma in you.

For those of us that do not have time to paint our toe nails, this shoe artist has an answer to our prayers.

UGG Boots: As in UGGLY Boots. No character, no specific reason why to wear them or buy unless you live in Alaska.

By Jimmy Choo: What were you thinking?

I see this running shoes and I fear: Planta Fasciitis. UGLY!
